Volunteer Tutoring Program
The volunteer tutor program is NALC's primary mission. In this program we match one adult learner with one volunteer tutor. Volunteers choose to work with an adult who needs literacy instruction, or with an adult immigrant needing conversation and English language skills. Start Now Program
Due to a large waiting list, it can take up to 6 months or longer for an adult learner to be matched with a volunteer tutor!! Start Now is a drop in learning lab, which allows learners to get immediate service while waiting to be matched with a permanent volunteer tutor. It also allows volunteer tutors greater scheduling flexibility than the one-on-one tutoring program. Volunteers sign up for time slots in hour increments whenever their schedule permits. Special Events Volunteer
NALC has special events throughout the year and is always in need of creative minds! From book clubs to fund raisers, we are always looking for volunteers to help us plan our events. If you are interested in helping with one of our upcoming events or fundraisers, please contact us at the office.
