Tutor Talks are an optional virtual monthly gathering held on Zoom on the second Thursday of every month from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
They are a time for tutors at NALC to come together, learn from one another, and build community. Each month we will focus on a different topic related to tutoring. We will spend some time chatting and getting to know one another, and then discuss the topic in small groups.
This month, we have a special guest speaker: Erin Paske from the Dyslexia Training Institute will be speaking on how to help your student learn new words independently. She will be teaching a morphemic analysis strategy and then a combination strategy using context clues and morphemic analysis. This will be an interactive presentation with time for questions at the end.
